Festival of Words 2021

The third Halifax Festival of Words was curated and organised by The Book Corner & The Grayston Unity and sponsored by Discover Halifax & Snowflake Media. It took place from October 22 to 24 October across 5 venues with events including live music; poetry readings; map making, writing and illustration workshops; and Q&As with all the authors and bands.

Festival Patrons

We are honoured to have owners of Bluemoose Publishing Kevin Duffy & Hetha Duffy & children’s author Tom Palmer as our festival patrons.

Kevin and Hetha started Bluemoose in 2006 to find great new stories and writers. We’re delighted to be patrons of The Halifax Festival of Words and Music, which since its inception has been doing just that, finding and promoting great stories and Music in Halifax and beyond and it is wonderful to see the festival go from strength to strength.

Tom Palmer is the author of more than 50 books for children. His subjects range from football and rugby to history, with a particular focus on the First and Second World Wars. He has won several book prizes and was awarded the 2019 Ruth Rendell Award for services to literacy. Tom lives in Halifax.
